Job Description

This is a job description that outlines major responsibilities a new hire can expect to perform. The position of a customer service person includes the following duties.

• Provide friendly and courteous service to customers
• Maintain regular, reliable attendance, which is essential to the job
• Place customers' purchases into bags
• Place filled bags in cart
• Carry customers' purchases to cars
• Retrieve carts from the parking lot
• Pick up paper and debris in the store, from the parking lot, and from carts
• Stock bags on checkout stands
• Empty trash from checkout stands and the service center
• Sweep and mop floors
• Return merchandise left at checkout to shelves
• Read and understand shelf tags
• Verify prices of merchandise
• Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of store management

Training will be provided at the store level.

• Bending
• Stooping
• Must be able to push 3 to 5 carts at a time
• Must be able to work outside in seasonal weather
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Working on feet for the entire shift (4–8 hours)

• Internal candidates:
  Minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred
• Store support center teammates:
  Minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred
• Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline)
• If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance
