Body Technician; Rate

Overview

Auto Body Technician at the Boyd Group in Richmond Hill. Responsible for providing exceptional customer service by assessing, repairing, and restoring vehicles to pre‑accident condition.

• Plan repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers.
• Use tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair vehicle sections.
• Remove dents, dimples, and other body damage; mix and apply filler resins.
• Realign chassis and frames; replace damaged sections with new or aftermarket parts.
• Replace or repair glass, windshields, and interior components.
• Weld or attach parts and prepare vehicles for repainting with factory‑specified paint.
• Inspect repaired vehicles to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
• Complete work orders within labor time guidelines.
• Perform any additional related duties as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent required. Successful completion of a technical school program or a 3‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer is required.

• Read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
• Collaborate effectively with other repair technicians.
• Understand repair methods, procedures, and tool usage.

• Work safely in a noisy area with strong odors.
• Lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
• Inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions.
• Perform bending, stretching, kneeling, and squatting as needed.
• Meet all physical demands required for the role.

Hourly rate: $21–$30. Flat‑rate compensation tied to booked hours with a guarantee of applicable local or state minimum wage. Potential bonuses for performance.
