Superintendent

Overaa Superintendents are energetic, dedicated, and experienced leaders who inspire and motivate crews and subcontractors to work safely and productively. As key company representatives, they communicate well and establish positive relationships with project owners, architects, inspectors, and trade partners. The superintendent oversees all field operations, ensuring labor productivity, construction methods, quality control, jobsite safety, and hazard resolution. They manage scheduling, subcontractor coordination, material procurement, and self‑perform craft labor, ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget from mobilization through completion.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and supervise all project construction field activities.
  • Direct and motivate field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, and with quality workmanship.
  • Create and maintain a weekly construction schedule and co‑create the project’s master schedule.
  • Proactively and collaboratively work to solve problems.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, coworkers, and project stakeholders.
  • Manage self‑perform activities and track productivity milestones.
  • Order materials, equipment, and schedule inspections.
  • Promote job site safety, encourage safe work practices, and rectify job site hazards.
  • Ensure all company employees, contractors, and site personnel adhere to company safety policy.
  • Complete all Overaa company safety training as required.
  • Create a jobsite logistics plan and maintain an organized, clean, safe job site environment.

Overall Responsibilities and Authority
  • Reports to the General Superintendent for personnel and production matters.
  • Reports to the Project Manager for project business including strategy, contractual issues, scheduling, and execution.
  • Responsible for enforcing the jobsite safety program.
  • Responsible for determining the most efficient and productive methods for sequencing work and meeting production goals and schedule milestones.
  • Responsible for directing, supervising, coaching, and mentoring project foremen and field crews.
Qualifications
  • Preferred:
    Bachelor’s degree in construction management (not required).
  • 5 years of relevant project experience in scheduling, ordering materials, field supervision, quality control, safety, and production of all construction phases.
  • Organized with a systematic approach to achieve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage diverse personalities.
  • Effective communication with coworkers and project stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of Procore, Plan Grid, Bluebeam, Revit, Sketch Up, AutoCAD, Primavera, Navisworks, Microsoft Project, and Viewpoint project‑management software is a plus.
  • Bi‑lingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Storm Water Pollution Prevention, LEED, and material reuse is a plus.

Physical Demands / Working Conditions

The position requires working in a physically demanding jobsite environment, frequently in an outdoor setting. Bending, stooping, kneeling, walking, and lifting are required. Ability to lift 40+ lbs. Driving required – must have a valid driver’s license for three or more years; proof of automobile liability insurance required when driving a personal vehicle.
