Position Title
EXL Program Instructor (Part‑time)
Reports toEXLP Site Coordinator
CompensationPay rate: $24 – $27 an hour, based on regional grant funding and experience.
Sign‑on bonus: $200 after 60 days of employment.
Hours: 20 – 30 hours per week, negotiated upon hiring, dependent on location and need.

- Associate Degree or higher, or 48 college units, or pass the Instructional Aide exam
- Pass criminal background check and TB test clearance
- Pass mandated reporter and other required trainings upon hire
- Ability to work every day during after‑school hours and throughout the academic school year (hire date through mid‑June); some positions include summer and intersession employment
- Previous experience working with children and ability to independently lead and supervise up to 22 students
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, stand, walk, and move for extended periods
- Effective communication in English with students, families, and staff; basic reading proficiency necessary to support students’ academic development and enrichment offerings
- Basic computer skills (Word, Email, Workvivo, Workday, Google Drive, etc.)
- Facilitate engaging academic, enrichment, recreation, and social‑emotional learning activities for K–12 students
- Build positive, supportive relationships that foster student belonging, confidence, and engagement
- Support student behavior using restorative, trauma‑informed, and culturally responsive practices
- Provide homework assistance and adapt activities to meet diverse learning needs and abilities
- Create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for students of all backgrounds
- Supervise and actively engage groups of up to 22 youth during indoor and outdoor activities
- Collaborate effectively with program staff, school personnel, and families to support student success
- Maintain accurate attendance, incident reports, and other required program documentation
- Participate fully in staff meetings, professional development, coaching, and trainings
- Represent BACR professionally in communication, appearance, and conduct at all times
