Bio-Rad Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist III
, you will work within a global team. You will support the occupational and environmental health and safety programs for our resin manufacturing plant in Richmond, California. A day in the life of a Safety Specialist at Bio‑Rad requires computer proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to schedule appointments, answer emails, attend meetings, analyze data, draft programs, etc., and time away from the desk documenting inspections, attending face‑to‑face meetings, conducting drills, delivering in‑person training, and overseeing hazardous waste shipments.
This in‑person role will interact with their EHS colleagues and internal customers on a daily basis and strong interpersonal skills are a must.
Under the leadership of the Northern California EHS Manager, this position will be responsible for:
- Coordination of occupational safety programs related to LOTO, ergonomics, fall protection, confined space entry, respiratory protection, hazard communication and chemical management.
- Coordination of environmental safety programs related to storm water, air quality, chemical storage and management and hazardous waste.
- Lead onsite safety teams, including emergency response and safety committee teams.
- Coordinate EHS activities within the site to further drive a safety culture with management and employees.
- Develop and deliver appropriate safety training based on site safety and environmental exposures and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate accident investigations to identify proper corrective actions or solutions.
- Education:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field, including safety and health, engineering, or chemistry. - Work Experience:
5+ years of work experience in occupational and environmental safety and health. - Working knowledge of regulatory requirements such as Cal/OSHA and EPA. Experience with local and county regulatory requirements a plus.
- Skills in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook.
- The ability to effectively shift priorities and work at a rapid pace is required.
- Experience with SAP and other software such as Power
BI, Docusign, Smartsheets or UL Wercs is a plus. - Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Location: This position must be based in Richmond, California and requires the employee to be located within commuting distance of the office.

CompensationThe estimated base salary range for this position is $105,000 to $144,500 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
