Project Manager – Fiscal & Financial Tracking
Location: Richmond, CA (Monday–Friday 8:00am–5:00pm, with some remote flexibility)
Pay Rate: $47–$50/hour
Duration: Late February through 6/30/2026 (with potential to extend or convert)

AboutThe Role
We are seeking a Project Manager with strong fiscal, financial tracking, and project management experience to support finance and operational initiatives for a large, mission‑driven organization. This role will focus on budget tracking, financial analysis, grant support, and cross‑functional project coordination.
The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, analytically strong, highly organized, and brings a collaborative, positive personality to a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities Financial & Fiscal Management- Track contract budgets and expenditures across multiple projects
- Prepare financial reports, analyses, and budget documentation
- Monitor expenditures to ensure alignment with project and grant requirements
- Support invoicing, accounting, and reporting activities as needed
- Lead and support finance and operational projects from initiation through completion
- Develop and maintain project timelines, monitor progress, and adjust plans as needed
- Identify risks, issues, and mitigation strategies to keep projects on track and within scope
- Coordinate with cross‑functional teams and leadership to ensure successful outcomes
- Support grant administration processes to ensure compliance and successful execution
- Manage and maintain grant‑related documentation and paperwork
- Work with CDPH CLS leadership to identify opportunities to optimize grant administration processes
- Ensure grants are implemented in alignment with operational and financial needs
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization
- Proactively identify efficiencies and recommend improvements to workflows and documentation
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Project Management, Business, Public Health, Engineering, Emergency Response, or similar)
- Strong project management experience
- Prior experience tracking budgets and expenditures
- Strong financial analysis experience
- Experience preparing financial reports
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills
- Analytical and problem‑solving mindset
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (macros a plus)
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, positive personality
- Master’s degree in a relevant field
- Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) – preferred but not required
- Prior experience in a public health or government environment
- Hybrid schedule with onsite work at the CDPH CLS Laboratory in Richmond, CA
- Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
- Collaborative, mission‑driven public health setting
