Position:
In-Home Trainer (Bilingual Chinese or Mandarin)
Location:
Richmond, CA
Hours:
Flexible schedule;
Monday-Friday (Approximately 17 hours per week)
The In-Home Trainer (CISA) works one‑on‑one with individuals to support their independence, social skills, recreation, education, and personal health at home and in the community. This position is a part of the Asian Family Resource Center program (AFRC).
What is AFRC? AFRC provides support to participants and their families in a culturally sensitive manner. This program assists the participants and their families in their primary language while pursuing activities and goals based on the individuals served. Programs like AFRC assist in ensuring access to community resources.
Responsibilities- Build goal-focused, supportive relationships with the individuals served.
- Encourage independence in daily activities.
- Plan and participate in engaging activities to promote enjoyment and learning.
- Work with a team to create and follow service and behavior plans.
- Connect individuals with community resources, agencies, and local opportunities.
- Assist with personal care as needed, following health and safety guidelines.
- Keep accurate records and reports as required by regulations.
- Use prompting, cueing, and fading techniques to encourage full participation in activities.
- Follow a flexible schedule based on the needs of the individuals supported.
- Ability to communicate proficiently in Chinese or Mandarin.
- Ability to communicate proficiently in English.
- Valid CA driver’s license with a good driving record.
- At least 2 years of experience in direct care, such as working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in‑home caregiving.
- Experience developing Individual Service Plans and behavior support strategies.
- Comfortable using email and Microsoft Word.
- High school diploma required (Preference for DSP certification or college education).
Wage: $22.50 per hour
Paid Time Off- 11 paid holidays + 1 birthday holiday
- 12 sick days per year
- 10–25 vacation days per year (based on tenure)
- 30 hours of bereavement leave
- Up to 2 weeks of paid jury duty
2% employer 403(b) match after one year of service
Employer pays 100% of retiree dental and Medicare supplement premiums for eligible employees
Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
Mileage is reimbursed at the IRS rate for approved business travel.
Required business use of a personal cell phone is reimbursed through a semi monthly stipend.
