Duration: 6-month contract with potential to extend or convert
Pay Range: $28 $ 36.00/hour

We seeking a Maintenance Technician II to support our Richmond manufacturing site, which produces process chromatography resins, liquid buffers, monomer solutions, oils, and other specialized life science products. This role sits within the Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) group and partners closely with Scientists, Engineers, vendors, and cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturing infrastructure operates efficiently and reliably.
This position plays a key role in maintaining and improving process equipment, instrumentation, and automation systems that keep production running smoothly.
Key Equipment & Systems
Process Equipment:
- Glass-lined reactors with heating systems
- Semi-automated fill lines
- Air classifiers
- Wet sizing units
- Inline mixing systems
- Semi-automated dispense systems
Instrumentation:
- Control valves
- Temperature, pressure, and speed transmitters
Automation:
- Allen Bradley RS Logix
- Control Logix / Compact Logix
- Automation Direct HMI
- PLC systems
How You'll Make an Impact
- Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and automation issues
- Complete production equipment setup
- Document maintenance activities in CMMS
- Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, layouts, and technical drawings
- Support equipment installation and startup under engineering guidance
- Assist with continuous improvement and first pass yield initiatives
- Provide basic training to junior team members as needed
- Suggest preventative maintenance improvements
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma, GED, or trade school equivalent
- 2+ years of related maintenance experience (manufacturing environment preferred)
- Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical and/or electrical systems
- Experience working with industrial process equipment
- Familiarity with PLCs and industrial automation systems
- Proficient with hand and power tools common to the trade
- Experience using CMMS systems
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong prioritization and problem-solving skills
- Basic PC and MS Office proficiency
