The 2nd Shift Production Supervisor, located in Richmond (CA), leads a team responsible for manufacturing ultra‑precision optical components, ensuring the safe, efficient, and high‑quality execution of production operations. This role drives performance across safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and continuous improvement while developing team capability and supporting operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
Safety, People, Quality, Delivery, Value

  • Lead and supervise daily production activities to achieve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost objectives.
  • Manage workforce planning, labor allocation, workflow coordination, and shift handoffs to ensure efficient operations and minimal downtime.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (productivity, scrap, downtime, output) and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Coach, develop, and motivate employees through training, cross‑training, performance feedback, and accountability processes.
  • Champion a strong safety culture by enforcing safety standards, investigating incidents, identifying hazards, and ensuring regulatory and company compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to quality requirements, operating procedures, and work instructions while resolving process and quality issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and 6S principles to improve operational performance.
  • Maintain accurate production records, communicate operational status to leadership, and support audits and cross‑functional initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience, with prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, safety standards, and production metrics. Experience with optics manufacturing is advantageous.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and production reporting tools.
  • Ability to work on‑site during 2nd shift hours (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM).
