POSITION SUMMARY:Under the supervision of the Resource Development Director, the Grants and Communication Specialist will play a critical role in supporting fund development and marketing through the application of communication skills in grant writing, administration, and content creation for digital and print media. The position will execute assigned duties to prepare a range of funding proposals under the direction of the Development Director and work directly with CHDC department staff as well as the resource development team to generate content and support social media and digital communications as needed.
PRIMARYDUTIES:
- Assists in the preparation of institutional funding requests across government, foundation, and institutional funders, including research, writing, and coordinating to support the proposals. Supports other departments in preparing grant funding requests.
- Responsible for completing assigned grant writing, submission, and tracking workflows, and grant administration as required.
- Prepares written content for social media posts, update website content, and print media including annual reports, newsletters, and other marketing or development communications.
- Ensures and maintains documentation through accurate record-keeping, data, and grant management and file maintenance.
- Works directly with all members of Resource Development team to Contribute to a positive branding for CHDC.
- Maintains knowledge of databases and tools to support digital access on CHDC’s platforms, use of tools and secondary support for resource development digital coordination and social media components.
- Provide ongoing and timely donor recognition and appreciation.
- Participating in community activities which contribute to the acquisition and retention of individual donors.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred in related field of work, or a minimum of 1 year of experience in grant writing or program development for nonprofit organizations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and respond to feedback to ensure delivery of quality work products
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft application, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Publisher, Canva, Adobe)
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a high-volume work environment.
- Ability to work with community members of diverse backgrounds.
- A background clearance is required.
- Must be able to remain stationary for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to move throughout the office, access files, and meet with stakeholders.
- Requires the mental acuity to perform the essential functions as outlined in an accurate and timely fashion.
