Job Overview
TNAA Total Med RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Rehabilitation for a travel nursing job in Richmond, Virginia. The assignment is for 13 weeks, 36 hours per week on 12‑hour day shifts as a travel RN.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to those with neurological, orthopedic, and other rehabilitation needs (stroke, spinal cord injury, joint replacements, brain injuries).
- Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other team members to develop and implement personalized care plans.
- Regularly assess patients, monitor vital signs, neurological function, and progress in therapy; adjust care plans as necessary.
- Administer medications per prescription; monitor side effects and assist with pain management.
- Educate patients and families on recovery goals, rehabilitation techniques, safety precautions, and strategies for daily activity independence.
- Respond to medical emergencies, stabilize patients, and coordinate emergency care.
- Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date patient records in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Assist with discharge planning, ensuring patients and families are prepared for after‑care, home modifications, continued therapies, and follow‑up appointments.
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive, patient‑centered care.
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure and eligibility for state licensure.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a rehabilitation setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (2 years). Additional certifications may be required.
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods, bend, stoop, and lift with proper body mechanics.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and complex care management skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and skilled in promoting recovery and independence.
