Role Description The Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Richmond, CA. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining EHS programs and policies that protect employees, clients, and visitors while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Day-to-day tasks include conducting risk assessments, safety inspections, and incident investigations; monitoring environmental and occupational health standards;
and maintaining EHS records and reports. The EHS Manager will design and deliver training sessions, coach managers and frontline teams on safe work practices, and collaborate with operations leadership to integrate EHS requirements into daily workflows. The role also involves continuous improvement of safety culture, supporting emergency preparedness, and partnering with stakeholders to reduce environmental impact.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) and Health & Safety skills, with experience implementing safety programs and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Candidates should possess Environmental Awareness skills, including understanding of environmental regulations, waste management practices, and sustainable operational approaches.
- Candidates should possess Occupational Health skills, with the ability to identify workplace hazards, assess risks, and support preventative health measures.
- Candidates should possess Training skills, including designing and delivering EHS training, coaching staff, and promoting a proactive safety culture.
- Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor's degree in environmental science, occupational health and safety, engineering, or a related field are beneficial.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CSP, CHMM, CIH, or equivalent) and experience in facilities, industrial, healthcare, or food service settings are advantageous.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence diverse teams and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with EHS management systems, incident reporting tools, and basic office software; ability to work on-site and engage in regular walkthrough
