Job Summary
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the NDT Technician is responsible for performing NDT inspections to identify surface and subsurface defects in turbine engine parts, support airworthiness and quality requirements, and work closely with maintenance, engineering, and quality teams.
As an NDT Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting technicians by providing mentorship, conducting inspections, verifying compliance, and ensuring safety and quality standards are upheld.
Responsibilities- Perform non‑destructive testing inspections on aircraft turbine engine components, including blades, vanes, disks, shafts, casings, and related assemblies.
- Conduct inspections using applicable NDT methods, which may include:
- Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection
- Magnetic Particle Inspection
- Visual Inspection
- Interpret inspection results in accordance with approved maintenance data, OEM manuals, engineering instructions, and customer requirements.
- Identify, document, and report defects, indications, and non‑conformances clearly and accurately.
- Prepare inspection reports, work cards, and quality documentation in compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Support inspection planning, component flow, and prioritization within a turbine engine MRO environment.
- Ensure all NDT equipment, materials, and consumables are used, stored, and maintained according to procedure.
- Perform daily system checks, process control checks, and equipment verification as required.
- Work in accordance with Transport Canada, company quality systems, and applicable aerospace standards.
- Collaborate with operations, machinists, quality inspectors, and workshop personnel to resolve inspection findings.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized inspection work area.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inspection quality, turnaround time, safety, and process reliability.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety procedures, and code of conduct to maintain a safe and professional work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental operations.
- At least 5 years of experience in aircraft engine maintenance and quality control in the aviation/aerospace industry.
- Aircraft Turbine engine experience preferred.
- CGSB Level2 – FPI (Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection) or (LPI) Liquid Penetrant Testing PT2 CGSB Certification.
- CGSB Level2 – MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspection).
- Strong understanding of CAR
571,573 and their foreign equivalents. - Proficient in technical data interpretation of engine and component maintenance manuals.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
- Familiarity with root cause analysis techniques.
- Proficient computer skills related to Microsoft Office, ERP and Quality related software suites.
- Familiarity working on Ozark T53 and/or Rolls‑Royce
250 engines.
$40.00‑$44.00 per hour.
