Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Safely operate, repair, rebuild and perform maintenance on Company owned or leased heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment including rolling stock to ensure its ability to operate safely

Starting Shift: 2 options4am-2pm M-F. OT after 40hrs. (Diagnostic Exp Needed For This Shift)145pm-12am M-F. OT after 40hrs.

Diagnose and repair operational difficulties with heavy-duty diesel trucks, hydraulics, and specialized waste/recycling equipment.
Fleet MaintenancePerform routine maintenance and complex repairs on heavy diesel, CNG, gas, and electrically operated vehicles.
Planning & SchedulingPlan and schedule repairs using the M5 planner system, ensuring all necessary parts are procured for a successful maintenance plan.
Administrative DutiesAccurately complete daily reports, work orders, parts orders, and other required administrative tasks.
Safety & ComplianceEnsure all work is performed in safe conditions and in strict compliance with federal, state/provincial, local laws, and company safety policies.
Collaboration & TrainingAssist in reviewing mechanical write-ups on equipment, coordinate repair schedules, and aid in the training and orientation of new team members.
Tool MaintenancePossess, provide, and maintain the personal hand and power tools necessary to perform heavy equipment maintenance, while keeping a clean and organized work area.
Job Requirements EducationHigh school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); a technical diploma or degree in diesel mechanics is highly desired.
Technical SkillsComputer literacy is required, with the ability to be trained on specialized software systems (experience with diagnostic software is a major plus).
Safety ScreeningsMust be able to meet relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to Company standards.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions Physical EffortFrequently required to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift/push/pull up to 100 pounds . Continuous concentrated mental and visual attention is necessary.
EnvironmentFrequently exposed to loud noise, moving mechanical parts, vibration, hot/cold weather conditions, and toxic or caustic chemicals/fumes. Occasionally required to work in high, precarious places.
