Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable, organized, and safety-focused Parts Runner to support construction operations. The Parts Runner plays a vital role in keeping field operations productive by ensuring crews receive the tools, equipment, materials, and replacement parts they need to minimize downtime and maintain project schedules.

This position requires someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced construction environment, has excellent organizational skills, and can safely operate company vehicles while coordinating deliveries between suppliers, vendors, warehouses, and active construction sites.

Material & Parts Delivery

  • Pick up and deliver construction materials, tools, replacement parts, and equipment between vendors, warehouses, fabrication shops, and project sites.
  • Transport emergency parts quickly to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Coordinate multiple daily deliveries while maintaining efficient routing.
  • Verify quantities and inspect materials before transport.
  • Obtain delivery receipts and maintain accurate documentation.

Inventory Support

  • Assist with maintaining inventory of commonly used construction materials and consumables.
  • Monitor stock levels and notify supervisors when replenishment is needed.
  • Organize storage areas, laydown yards, and tool rooms.
  • Help receive, label, and distribute incoming shipments.
  • Maintain inventory records and delivery logs.

Equipment & Tool Support

  • Deliver hand tools, power tools, rigging equipment, and safety supplies to field crews.
  • Retrieve damaged or broken tools for repair or replacement.
  • Assist mechanics and equipment personnel with obtaining repair parts.
  • Coordinate equipment pickups and returns with rental companies.
  • Build positive working relationships with local suppliers and vendors.
  • Schedule pickups and verify order availability.
  • Assist purchasing personnel by obtaining pricing and availability when requested.
  • Expedite urgent material requests.

Vehicle Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company pickup trucks, vans, and other assigned vehicles.
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of company vehicles.
  • Report maintenance issues promptly.
  • Follow all DOT requirements and company driving policies.

Documentation

  • Track purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Record mileage and vehicle usage.
  • Document material receipts and transfers.
  • Assist with inventory reporting.

Jobsite Support

  • Deliver PPE and safety supplies to field personnel.
  • Assist with setup and organization of storage areas.
  • Assist warehouse personnel with loading and unloading materials.
  • Perform general labor and logistical support as needed.

Safety

  • Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Secure all transported materials properly.
  • Operate vehicles safely under varying traffic and weather conditions.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years of experience in construction, warehouse, logistics, delivery, or material handling preferred.
  • Valid California driver s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to safely operate pickup trucks and cargo vans.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Basic computer and smartphone proficiency.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with field personnel and vendors.
