Material Handler, Forklift Operator
Overview
Performs a variety of routine, repetitive, physical and administrative tasks in a warehouse involving one or more of the following: receiving, putting away, storing, staging, kitting, picking, packing and shipping of materials, parts, supplies, equipment, finished goods, label control, handling unit, lot control or serial control.
Responsibilities- Performs daily routine tasks: receives, stores, picks, packs, ships and/or distributes materials.
- Loads and unloads trucks, and other distribution channel storage and transportation containers.
- Prepares domestic and International goods for shipment.
- Verifies goods received against documentation.
- Performs initial quality check on incoming product.
- Stages materials and packages.
- Operates motorized and non-motorized equipment to move materials, parts, supplies and equipment as instructed.
- Assist in cycle-counts of physical inventory.
- Processes paperwork and performs SAP transactions daily.
- Assists in handling dangerous goods and hazmat materials.
- Prepares material for scrapping.
- Follows written and oral instructions.
- Ensures work area is neat, clean and in order.
- Adheres to quality and safety standards.
- Forklift certified or able to become certified.
- May operate foam in place product packaging or other material packaging and sealing equipment.
- Regularly works within multiple warehouse functions: receiving, picking/packing, staging and shipping.
- Receives and processes returned materials and supplies in SAP.
- Audits outgoing released inventory against pick list and customer orders.
- Utilizes SAP to quarantine items and process scrap materials.
- Certified and operates a forklift to move materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
- Maintains 5S organization of work area and actively seeks and recommends process improvements.
- Manages changing priorities, as needed.
- May provide training to less experienced personnel within the department.
- Works with the department Team Leader to ensure compliance with all cGMP, ISO and FDA guidelines.
- Packages Hazmat Materials and Products in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Troubleshoots SAP transactional issues within the warehouse (shortages/overages/etc.).
- May assist with projects, as necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent desired. - Work Experience:
3+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Ability to analyze and resolve issues in effective/practical ways.
- Ability to lead team to achieve department goals and objectives.
- Intermediate written and verbal communication skills:
Effectively communicate with team and supervisor using applicable language/terminology. - Intermediate math, problem solving and computer skills.
- Ability to prioritize work.
- Ability to tolerate hot or cold warehouse environments, lift up to 50 lbs., sit, stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Knowledge of shipping procedures, required.
- Intermediate knowledge of international shipping procedures.
- Experience with ERP System, SAP preferred.
- Experience operating motorized and non-motorized warehouse equipment.
- Experience using radio frequency equipment.
- Where applicable, knowledge of GMP, ISO, IPC, FDA, DOT, and/or IATA requirements.
- Forklift certification, required.
- Hazardous Materials certification required.
- Where applicable, Known Consignor Certification.
- Ability to share knowledge with others.
- Team player/ flexible/ attentive to detail and quality minded.
Location: This position must be based in Richmond, California and requires the employee to be located within commuting distance of the office.

Compensation: The estimated hourly range for this position is $20.63 to $28.37 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer and is based on location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job-permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus based on individual objectives and company performance.
