We are looking for a bright and motivated individual, someone who is ready to contribute to our growth. Pinchin is seeking to fill a Team Leader role within the Hazardous Materials division in Richmond, British Columbia.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Team Leader is responsible for the efficient and profitable operation of their division within their assigned region. Team Leaders also fulfill a Senior Project Manager and Client Manager roles within their position.

What you will be doing at Pinchin

  • Maintain expert level technical knowledge of the services offered by the division.
  • Proactively manage staff chargeability and levels to ensure revenue and profit targets are achieved.
  • Assign, schedule, and oversee work completed by Project Managers, Project Coordinators, Technologists, and support staff team members.
  • Manage complex projects by collaborating with team members within the division and across divisions, ensuring financial success through effective planning, coordination, and resource allocation.
  • Senior Technical Reviewer of proposals and deliverables. Ensure technical excellence and quality in the delivery of all services/products (scope development, field execution and project deliverables).
  • Collaborate with Team Leaders/Operations Managers within the company to maximize staff chargeability and business development opportunities.
  • Hold and/or attend regular regional, divisional and project management meetings.
  • Stay abreast of activities affecting the regional market and industry.
  • Support marketing and business development activities for the division; including representing the company at trade shows, conferences, client, and association events etc.
  • Lead by example and enforce company policies relating to quality management, occupational health & safety, and human resources.
  • Proactively manage staff by conducting performance reviews (bi-annually minimum), setting and managing expectations for training and career development
  • Proactively manage client concerns and ensure timely, responsive communication to maintain strong client relationships.
  • With support of the senior leadership team, address staff concerns and issues effectively, fostering a supportive and communicative work environment.
  • Contribute to the preparation of annual operational budgets for the division.
  • Supporting and executing operational and strategic business plans developed for the division and region.

What you bring to the Pinchin team

  • Degree or Diploma, Environmental Technology, Construction Technology or Architectural Technology, Bachelor of Science
  • 8 – 10 years’ experience providing hazardous materials consulting and project management
  • Ability to read, comprehend and proof written deliverables and correspondence.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively manage assigned team members.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Valid driver’s license, insurance, and vehicle (work-related travel will be compensated)
  • Work Safe BC Level S (Surveyor) certification and asset.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation an asset.
