Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as‑needed basis.
Responsibilities- Creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals and providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided.
- Facilitating student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
- Making optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
- Developing and maintaining course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.
- Maintaining accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
- Engaging with students in meaningful and productive ways to impact learning and create a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College, while implementing active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning (curricular).
- Interacting with students and co‑workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complying with College policies, campus guidelines, and expectations.
- Ensuring knowledge of and implementing emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs, and all learning environments.
- Performing other duties logically associated with this position, as assigned.
- Conducting all responsibilities in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
- A qualified faculty member in engineering technology meets the program standard with an earned baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
- Must have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to the area of instruction and meet faculty credentials as outlined in ASOM 7.1 for the specific area(s) of instruction.
- Conducts all activities with an appreciation and respect for all students and employees.
