Job SummaryThis position involves the design and development of products and provides technical assistance for marketing, manufacturing, testing, sales, and application of Belden's products. Each engineer is responsible for at least $50 MM of product, covering all plants and national/international end‑use markets.
Responsibilities- Design and develop advanced products (specifications, materials, finished product, packaging, testing) and systems to customer specifications while maintaining lowest cost and manufacturability.
- Identify emerging technologies, develop design relationships, and create new test procedures and systems that support product development and application.
- Maintain product line specifications, databases, and engineering documentation for cost effectiveness and manufacturability.
- Improve design equations and engineering systems through theoretical or empirical studies to expand capability and reduce cycle time.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing to identify technology drivers, interpret industry standards, and ensure compliance with future development needs.
- Maintain project and test logs, prepare reports, and document engineering projects.
- Research competitor products, act as technical liaison to sales/marketing, and assist with pricing, quotations, and technical communications such as bulletins and trade articles.
- Provide technical training to customers and internal functions and support new product introductions.
- Comply with Company Attendance Policy and travel within The Americas on short notice for critical customer needs.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Education – Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (preferred) with 5–7 years of electronic cable design or equivalent experience.
- Markets – Knowledge of Wire & Cable markets.
- Required Skills – Proficiency in MS Office and written/oral fluency in English.
Applicants can expect a base compensation range of $50,000–65,000 annually, plus benefits and additional incentives based on the level of the role.
