Maintenance Technician
Join a dynamic team as a 1st shift multi-craft maintenance technician at a leading plastics company. This role involves a balanced mix of mechanical and electrical tasks, focusing equally on preventative and reactive maintenance. Candidates should possess the skills to troubleshoot electrical systems using a meter up to 480 volts, as well as mechanical systems involving conveyors, augers, and extruders. Additional responsibilities include fixing boilers, bearings, and pumps, rewiring motors, and changing out sensors.
Responsibilities- Read and interpret P&, flow diagrams, parts lists, written instructions, standards, schematics, and instruction manuals.
- Perform mathematical computations for measurements and various maintenance issues.
- Operate hand-held test equipment for troubleshooting, calibrating, and repairing equipment and instrumentation.
- Develop and implement changes to reduce cost, improve quality, or enhance safety.
- Troubleshoot, dismantle, inspect, assemble, adjust, repair, and test a wide range of mechanical components such as conveyors, grinders, centrifuges, augers, valves, pumps, compressors, boilers, and gearboxes.
- Utilize a variety of hand and power tools, meters, conduit benders, meggers, and other equipment.
- Understand and operate various electrical components including fuses, relays, contractors, and switches.
- Apply basic and advanced mechanical theories and concepts.
- Work effectively in extreme conditions such as heat, cold, noise, fumes, and dust.
- Collaborate in a team environment to enhance maintenance knowledge and improve equipment.
- Adhere to safety procedures and processes, including management of change, lock tag clear try, and confined space entry.
- Complete all required tasks and documentation in a timely manner.
- Proficiency in electrical maintenance and troubleshooting using a megger.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding.
- Ability to perform preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Knowledge of computer systems including SAP, Falcon, Microsoft Office, and network drives.
Skills & Qualifications

- Experience with hand-held test equipment and instrumentation.

Work EnvironmentWork in a clean plastics recycling facility with regular maintenance and shut downs for cleaning twice a year. Enjoy a consistent schedule from 7am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $79206.00 - $79206.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Health, dental, vision, 401k and paid PTO 3 weeks.
