The successful candidate for this position will be a 1099 contractor with Music Ministry International and be responsible for the following:
General InformationThis is a non‑personnel services contract to provide Catholic Deacon Services. The Government shall not exercise any supervision or control over the contract service providers performing the services herein. The deacon shall perform to the standards in this JOB DESCRIPTION and within the guidelines of the Roman Catholic Church, Archdioceses of Military Services (AMS) Priests’ Manual, Army Regulation (AR) 165‑1, Department of Army Pamphlet (DA PAM) 165‑18, and Installation Chaplain Policies.
The Government shall not exercise any supervision or control over the contract service providers performing the services herein. Such contract service providers shall be accountable solely to the deacon who, in turn, is responsible to the Government.
The deacon shall provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and other items and non‑personal services necessary to perform Administrative Catholic Pastoral Life Coordinator as defined in this Job description except for those items specified as government furnished property and services. The deacon shall perform to the standards in this JOB DESCRIPTION.
BackgroundThe Fort Campbell Garrison Chaplain’s Office does not have enough assigned personnel to provide consistent Catholic services. Under the provision of AR 165‑1, Fort Campbell is responsible for religious, spiritual, moral, and ethical activities of all Fort Campbell personnel on an equitable basis.

Provide an array of Catholic Deacon services to ensure the free exercise of religious preference which is a statutory requirement under USC Title X.

Specific Tasks Basic ServicesThe deacon shall provide Catholic Deacon services to support the free exercise of religion.
Catholic Deacon Support Services- Denomination Admin Support
- The deacon shall provide weekly “Prayers of the Faithful” and Parish Announcements for each Sunday and holiday Eucharistic celebration IAW AMS directors and liturgical norms.
- The deacon shall prepare and maintain correspondence to obtain sacramental records from the AMS.
- The deacon shall conduct all other official correspondence with the Roman Catholic Dioceses throughout the world to obtain certificates, affidavits of sponsorship, and other ecclesiastical documents and decrees.
- The deacon shall register parishioners within three (3) days after the parishioner’s arrival.
- The deacon shall produce a semi‑annual consolidated census and shall observe the privacy regulations in its collection and maintenance.
- The deacon will ensure registration by organizing on‑going registration throughout the year and registration renewal as designated for the parish.
- The deacon shall prepare and organize the weekly newsletter for the Catholic Community.
- The deacon shall print paper copies and provide the weekly newsletter to the COR no later than the day.
- The deacon is the point of contact for all items or activities entered into the newsletter.
- The Deacon shall support Priests in the conduct of weekend masses on Saturdays/Sundays IAW AMS, and the General Instruction of the Missal (GIRM). Masses last for one (1) hour and include a homily.
- Weekly mass begins at 1730 on Saturdays.
- Weekly mass begins at 1130 on Sundays.
- The Deacon shall Coordinate and conduct denominational specific pre‑nuptial investigation reports (Canon 1066).
