Job Overview:

We are seeking a dependable and career-focused Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing quality oral healthcare to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting chair-side with our associate dentist for a range of procedures, maintaining procedure and hygiene rooms, helping with sterilization and charting, along with other tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist the dentist during procedures by handing them instruments and maintaining a sterile field

- Arrive to the office 30 minutes before the first scheduled patients

- Escort and seat patients to and from procedure rooms in a timely manner

- Assist with front desk responsibilities: answering phones, scheduling patients, etc.

- Show care and concern, and help patients feel comfortable

- Take dental x-rays for diagnostic purposes

- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories as needed

- Oversee cleanliness of the treatment room according to sterilization procedures

- Disinfect treatment rooms and sterilize all instruments according to OSHA regulations

- Promptly send out and monitor all dental laboratory cases

- Implement the preventative maintenance/cleaning schedule for dental equipment

- Stay up to date with advancements in dental technology, techniques, and regulations

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations

- Graduate of accredited dental assisting program; minimum 1 year dental assisting experience preferred

-Coursework in dental instruments and procedures

-Compliance with state dental practice requirements (e.g., x-ray requirements, OSHA training)

-Experience working with electronic health record systems (Eaglesoft preferred)

Experience:

• Dental assisting: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

Graduate of accredited dental assisting program (Required)

• Radiology Certification (Required)
