Job SummaryThe Department of Computer Science & Information Technology at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for an opening as a One-Year Visiting Assistant Professor in Computer Science, commencing August 3, 2026. The position requires a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field from an accredited institution. ABD applicants may be considered with evidence of a doctoral defense by May prior to the appointment.
Candidates with specialties in Digital Forensics/Cybersecurity and Database Systems are especially encouraged to apply.
Teaching on‑campus and/or online in undergraduate courses in a range of department areas such as core curriculum, service, seminars, and workshops in a workload consistent with the needs and priorities of the college and institution. The successful candidate may also assist in promoting the Dept. of Computer Science & Institutional Technology programs as well as support the initiatives of the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics.
The University places a high priority on being leaders in the responsible use of artificial intelligence and in building such capacity in our students. The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of artificial intelligence pertinent to the discipline and/or a willingness to pursue professional development to acquire such expertise.
Education:
A Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field from an accredited institution is required. ABD applicants may be considered with evidence of a doctoral defense by May prior to the appointment. Appropriate proficiency in oral and written English is required.
