Part‑Time Athens‑Clarke County Extension 4‑H Program Assistant

The County Extension Program Assistant position will perform duties necessary to assist the county extension agents in the day‑to‑day conduct of programs. Duties include answering phone calls and helping with 4‑H and agricultural assignments.

• Assist in facilitating the county 4‑H Program.
• Assist 4‑H participants in preparation for competitive events including project achievement and judging teams.
• Transport or arrange transportation of 4‑H participants to district and state level events and, if assigned, provide leadership for youth while attending these events.
• Incorporate results of program evaluations and feedback in planning future programs and implement techniques used in the programs.
• Help implement educational agricultural programs.
• Maintain office hours to assist clientele and conduct day‑to‑day operations.
• Assist clientele with access to Extension resources and services including printed publications, online content, and other educational materials and sample submissions for diagnostic services (soil and water tests, feed and animal waste analysis, radon testing).
• Assist with other duties as needed.

• Minimum:
  High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred:
  Strong organizational skills, working knowledge of office practices and procedures, ability to use independent judgment and discretion with confidential information, ability to work with limited supervision.

• Conduct programs (pack and move boxes, handle equipment, load and unload vehicles).
• Travel to events.
• Drive as needed to perform job duties.

• Salary: $16.587 per hour.
• Work schedule:
  
  19 hours per week, varying days and times.
