Model coaching positions are seasonal appointments. The varsity boys' baseball season is generally from February 15 - June
1. Positions will ensure that KHSAA and EKU regulations and policies are observed during practices and events, provide coaching, role modeling and oversight of activities, and supervise students.

Education: High school diploma and completion of KHSAA training or minimum of 64 college credit hours is required. Must be at least 21 years of age.

Experience: Must complete KHSAA and Model Lab School training requirements.

Successful experience as a baseball player and/or coach. Highly knowledgeable about the rules of the game and experience in working with high school student athletes.

• 75% - Work with Athletic Director to schedule practices and games.
  
  - Ensure presence at all scheduled baseball events.
  
  - Train and practice with student athletes using best practices for baseball players and in accordance with all KHSAA and other national and state laws and guidelines.
  
  - Serve as a Model representative and liaison when interacting with Model parents and with employees, students, parents and community members of other schools. (Essential)
• 15% - Complete all required training for coaches, including Model orientation and review of the coaches handbook.
  
  - Serve as a role model, using appropriate behaviors and coaching techniques for student athletes.
  
  - Assist in selection and oversight of assistant coach and ensure proper behaviors are maintained.
  
  - Ensure proper maintenance and care of all athletic equipment.
  
  - Adhere to student confidentiality policies and procedures.
  
  - Follow proper protocol for student travel to competitions. (Essential)
• 10% - Learn and communicate with students and parents through the school-approved ROOMS communication system.
  
  - Complete other duties as assigned/requested by the Superintendent or Director of Athletics. (Essential)
