Archbishop Hoban High School

Position:
Coordinator of the Holy Cross Pathways Program and Intervention Specialist for the 2026-27 school year. This full‑time, 10‑month salaried position provides a critical role in supporting students with intellectual disabilities as they navigate academic, social, and life‑skills development. The Coordinator will oversee and grow the program in collaboration with the Associate Principal of Student Services, deliver direct intervention and support, and work with teachers, parents, and administrators to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where all students can succeed.

About the Holy Cross Pathways Program:
The program is a specialized, modified‑curriculum unit designed to serve students with intellectual disabilities. It offers individualized academic, social, and personal support to ensure students thrive in a high‑school environment, rooted in the values of the Holy Cross tradition and emphasizing inclusivity, perseverance, and meaningful growth.

Position Responsibilities
  • Program Leadership
    • Lead, oversee, and grow the Holy Cross Pathways Program, ensuring alignment with the mission and values of Archbishop Hoban High School.
    • Develop and evaluate program goals that support the unique needs of students with intellectual disabilities.
    • Supervise and mentor program staff to ensure high‑quality, individualized services.
  • Student Support and Development
    • Provide data for individualized education plans (IEPs) and transition plans, collaborating with families, staff, the district of service, and the district of residence.
    • Ensure data collection for progress reports and billing associated with Ohio's Jon Peterson Scholarship program.
    • Provide academic and life‑skills instruction tailored to the abilities and needs of each student.
    • Foster independence and self‑advocacy skills to prepare students for future opportunities.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Partner with faculty to ensure effective implementation of accommodations and modifications in classrooms.
    • Serve as a liaison between students, families, and external service providers.
    • Maintain regular communication with families to monitor progress and address concerns.
  • Life Skills and Transition Planning
    • Develop and oversee programs that enhance social skills, vocational training, and community engagement.
    • Support students in their transition to post‑secondary education, employment, or other appropriate settings.
  • Professional Development and School Integration
    • Provide training and resources for faculty to better support students with intellectual disabilities.
    • Promote a culture of empathy, inclusion, and understanding within the school community.
Position Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in special education, educational leadership, or a related field.
  • State of Ohio Intervention Specialist license (moderate to severe preferred).
  • At least 3–5 years of experience working with students with intellectual disabilities, preferably in a high school setting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing individualized education plans and transition services.
  • Strong understanding of special education laws, interventions, and best practices for supporting students with intellectual disabilities.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Appropriate criminal records check by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in Catholic education or familiarity with the Holy Cross tradition.
  • Experience in life‑skills instruction or vocational training for students with intellectual disabilities.
  • Proficiency in data‑driven methods for tracking student progress and program outcomes.
  • Experience with Ohio's Jon Peterson Scholarship program.
