Domtar is hiring an Engineering Superintendent for our Hawesville, KY facility (42348).

Key Responsibilities- Lead, manage and develop the site engineering group comprising engineers and specialists in mechanical, electrical and process control disciplines.
- Track and report project delivery (cost, schedule, validation) for equipment upgrades, cost‑saving initiatives and process improvements affecting manufacturing lines.
- Ensure safe, efficient and cost‑effective management of overall engineering and reliability processes and activities to maximize equipment reliability and asset preservation.
- Ensure all planned projects are implemented on time, on budget and meet stated objectives.
- Manage site capital budget coordination, AR development, cost tracking and project execution methodologies.
- Drive successful delivery of major technical projects.
- Conduct process evaluations for product and process changes to confirm long‑term product quality and process viability.
- BS in Engineering.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in a manufacturing environment delivering complex projects.
- Demonstrated expertise in project management, vendor/consultant selection, management and budget responsibilities.
- Training in analytical troubleshooting methodology.
- Experience in Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Familiarity with Allen‑Bradley and Siemens electrical systems/programming and power & control systems.
- Proficient in AutoCAD.
- PE certification.
- Higher level training in reliability.
- Experience in the pulp and paper industry.
- Knowledge of Project Management Best Practices and Methodology (FEL process).
- Use and knowledge of SAP’s Plant and Materials Management.
- Think analytically and act strategically.
- In‑depth project management and delivery skills.
- Lead, manage and direct cross‑functional and multi‑discipline projects and teams with effective communication.
- Develop leadership and team skills through boundary setting and flexibility in decision making.
- Demonstrate business acumen; articulate financial and business impact of engineering decisions.
- Lead and direct meetings, manage schedules and provide corresponding documentation.
- Coordinate and execute multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Adjust priorities in a dynamic work environment.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions via complex data evaluation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficient in MS Office and MS Project.
- Willing to work extended hours and travel.
