We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our Cleveland, OH operation. This is a salaried position with an annual salary range of $70,000-$90,000. The successful candidate will be eligible for a quarterly bonus and an annual bonus, based on both individual and company performance.
Job DescriptionThe Mechanical Engineer (EIT) will gain comprehensive, hands‑on engineering experience while performing in‑depth forensic investigations, including vehicle accident analysis. This role involves applying sound engineering principles to support clients with loss resolution and litigation requirements. The ideal candidate is willing to travel to investigate incidents in the field. This position is well suited for a motivated, self‑starting individual who works well independently, prefers a dynamic work environment over a traditional desk‑based role, and occasionally enjoys working outdoors.
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for performing mechanical inspections and evaluating motor vehicle crashes. The role involves conducting motor vehicle 'black box' downloads, recreating motor vehicle crashes using engineering analyses and simulation tools, and managing forensic engineering projects from concept to completion.
Required Qualifications- B.S. and/or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 2 to 3 years of specialized Mechanical Engineering experience.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
- Knowledge of key automotive vehicle systems such as powertrain, chassis, thermal systems, dynamics.
- Willingness to travel to conduct investigations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to complete detailed work efficiently.
- Effective time‑management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and deliver timely work based on client needs.
- Collaborative and friendly with the ability to work independently.
- Vehicular accident reconstruction.
- Fire investigation experience and/or certification.
- Incident investigation experience.
- Expert witness experience.
