Research Scientist
Peak Nano is seeking an engineering co-op to support the efforts of the R&D team. This engineering co-op will contribute to the Peak Nano Films R&D team's current projects while gaining hands‑on experience in a manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities Include:- Assist in setting up and tearing down polymer process experiments
- Participate in film extrusion trials or other sample fabrication trials
- Prepare polymer film samples from trials for a range of characterization testing
- Conduct, record, and report results of polymer film/product testing to support R&D efforts
- Assist senior technical staff members in developing/modifying techniques or equipment for the evaluation of new processes or products
Enrollment in a B.A or B.S in Materials/Polymer Science, Plastics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent program
Basic knowledge or interest in plastics/polymeric materials
Experience with or interest in hands‑on engineering work
Demonstrated eagerness to learn new concepts, machinery, and applications
Ability to work well independently or in a team
Ability to handle weight up to 50 pounds
Must have manual dexterity sufficient to operate a wide variety of small hand tools, scales, spatulas, hand trucks, utility knives, and extrusion equipment.
Preferred QualificationsStrong organizational, multi-tasking, and problem‑solving skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
