Job Description:
The incumbent provides administrative support for daily HR operations and assists employees with HR-related questions and needs. The incumbent supports employee records, onboarding and offboarding processes, documentation, and general HR activities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. The ideal incumbent is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and able to communicate effectively with employees and management.
Qualifications/Skills/Knowledge & Education Recommendations:
A high school diploma or GED is required. Post-secondary education in human resources or a related field is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills, along with a demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with a high level of discretion and professionalism.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Learn, accept and live Century Aluminum’s Vision, Purpose and Value’s.
- Assist with recruitment activities such as scheduling and conducting phone screens and on-site interviews.
- Prepare materials and serve as a secondary facilitator for new hire orientation. Assist with all aspects of on-boarding such as processing new hire forms, assembling new personnel files, verifying I-9 documentation, and entering new hires into HRIS system.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions related to HR policies and procedures.
- Participate in employee relations issues, workplace investigations, coaching, counseling, and disciplinary process under the guidance of the HR leadership.
- Support attendance tracking and help administer corrective action processes when needed
- Help plan and assist with company events including ordering lunches, booking conference rooms, and on-site visitor coordination.
