One‑Year Visiting Assistant Professor, commencing August 3, 2026.

The Department of Computer Science & Information Technology at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for a one‑year Visiting Assistant Professor in Computer Science. The role requires a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related accredited field. ABD applicants may be considered if evidence of a doctoral defense by May is presented. Candidates with specialties in Digital Forensics/Cybersecurity and Database Systems are especially encouraged.

• Teach on‑campus and/or online undergraduate courses across core curriculum, service courses, seminars, and workshops.
• Assist in promoting the Department of Computer Science & Information Technology programs and support initiatives of the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics.
• Demonstrate knowledge of artificial intelligence relevant to the discipline and pursue professional development to acquire such expertise as needed.

• Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field from an accredited institution. ABD candidates must show evidence of a doctoral defense by May.
• Proficiency in oral and written English.
• Knowledge of current practices in professional communication and social media.
• Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Active listening skills.
• Ability to collaborate with peers and students.
• Ability to understand and adapt to current trends in professional communication.
• Specialties in Digital Forensics/Cybersecurity and Database Systems are preferred.
