Material Planner – Onsite Shelby, OH, USA
As a Material Planner, you will support the Tools & Outdoor North America Supply Chain team as an on‑site employee. Your primary responsibilities involve procuring component and turnkey outdoor power equipment parts to support distribution and production activities through interaction with our ERP and demand planning systems.
Responsibilities- Procure component and turnkey outdoor power equipment parts for distribution and production departments.
- Review and analyze component item requirements and make procurement decisions using Infor XA MRP and final goods forecasting tools.
- Communicate with suppliers to resolve performance issues such as quality, delivery, and compliance.
- Assist in managing obsolete and excess inventory.
- Ensure the integrity of SKU record data.
- Act as a liaison between corporate PMM group, Serviceability group, and Shelby Operations.
- Participate in the new product development process to bring new products to market, ensuring material availability for pilot and production targets.
- Communicate and perform necessary actions for at‑risk items as part of the Sales and Operations Planning process.
- Track key metrics including customer fill rate, inventory turns, and inventory value.
- Lead material flow related projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or in the process of attaining a degree; or two or more years of experience in purchasing or material procurement (preferred).
- CPIM certification is a plus.
- Strong data analysis and problem‑solving skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
- Continuous improvement mindset.
- Intermediate PC skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office, ERP, WMS, and demand planning systems.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills at all organization levels.
- Team‑oriented mindset with the ability to contribute and succeed in a collaborative environment.
Salary range: $33,400.00 – $53,700.00 annually.
