Position Summary

Ensures the efficient operation of the supply chain by coordinating and managing the movement of goods from suppliers to customers. Plan and track shipments and resolve any issues that arise. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask are essential for this role.

Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions
  • Exercise discretion in the negotiation of rates with customers and carriers to meet or exceed targeted net margin per month on assigned accounts.
  • Build and foster positive relationships with customers and resolve service issues using independent judgment and discretion to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and solicit additional business opportunities with assigned customer accounts.
  • Handle very high telephone call and email volume in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Schedule and manage appointments and on-time performance with shippers, receivers, and carriers.
  • Locate and arrange approved carriers to cover customer loads, and manage timeliness of loading and unloading.
  • Strive for continuous improvement, identify existing or potential issues and assist in corrective action.
  • Update and maintain transportation management system with all information received from customer, shipper and carrier.
Marginal Functions
  • Assist in accounts receivable collections efforts.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, rotating after hours, weekend and holiday coverage based on customer requirements.
  • Ability to simultaneously operate multiple telephone lines.
Job Specifications
  • 1. 2 years of experience.
  • 2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal.
  • 3. Ability to prioritize, organize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced office environment.
  • 4. Ability to work efficiently with a professional, customer friendly attitude.
  • 5. Intermediate computer skills using Microsoft Office and software applications, and accurate typing skills.
Qualifications
Experience
Required
  • 2 years: TMS (Transportation Management System) - any
  • 2 years:
    Transportation Management/Brokerage Experience
Preferred
  • 2 years:
    Truckload and LTL experience
  • 2 years:
    Customer Service
