Retail Assistant Store Manager

$15.00 to $17.50 per hour inclusive of commission that can add up to an additional $7.50 per hour on top of the hourly rate.

We offer a commission structure that pays for every transaction processed. Store associates can earn up to 8% on transactions.

Position Summary

We are seeking an Assistant Store Manager with a minimum of six (6+) months of management or 3rd‑key experience. The role is accountable for day‑to‑day store operations, leading and developing employees, recruiting and retaining top talent, driving financial performance, and managing customer relations.

The Assistant Store Manager will partner with the Store Manager, analyze financial statements, commit to the company’s asset protection program, promote business, and target new customer acquisitions. All employees work with a wide variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.

This position offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity and a store performance bonus. Pay will vary by location, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate a customer‑centric environment by engaging customers and addressing their issues promptly.
  • Monitor and assist in the training of Pawnbrokers to match First Cash standards.
  • Recruit top talent through company‑prescribed channels.
  • Open and close the store, including counting cash drawers and merchandise and ensuring procedures protect assets.
  • Ensure asset protection via inventory control, property safety, documentation, and securing customer loans.
  • Administer processes within the store, including inventory, loan management, merchandising, store presentation, systems, and enterprise‑level reporting.
  • Evaluate the store’s financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal setting.
  • Ensure operating standards meet or exceed First Cash standards.
  • Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to maintain value and integrity of all loans issued.
  • Complete assigned tasks and training for self‑development.
  • Communicate clearly with employees about the store’s mission and profit objectives.
  • Stay up‑to‑date on product knowledge.
  • Act as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Willing and able to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
  • Can lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience.
  • Ability to work with firearms and obtain firearms certification.
  • May be required to assist customers outside the building.
  • Minimum age 18 years.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Must be able to work in multiple locations as needed.
