As an Industrial Hygienist at Glenn Research Center or Neil

A. Armstrong Test Facility, you will develop, implement, and maintain Center-level environmental and occupational health programs and oversee compliance with Federal, State, NASA, and Agency requirements. Positions are located in various organizations, and NASA may fill positions at any of the grade levels listed in this announcement: GS-11/12/13/14.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

you must have:

a) One year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level:

• Conducting exposure assessments involving chemical, physical, or biological hazards by collecting and analyzing data, comparing results to established standards, and recommending measures to support occupational health and regulatory compliance.

OR

b) Completed all requirements for a doctoral degree (i.e., Ph.D. or equivalent) in an appropriate field

OR

c) Completed 3 full academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or equivalent doctoral degree in an appropriate field.

OR

d) Have an equivalent combination of experience and graduate study as discussed in a), b) and c) above

you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level:

• Managing or administering industrial hygiene programs by evaluating occupational hazards, conducting exposure assessments, and supporting compliance with Federal, NASA, and organizational requirements.

you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level:

• Implementing industrial hygiene and health physics practices by evaluating occupational hazards, developing mitigation recommendations, and supporting occupational health programs to ensure compliance with Federal, NASA, and organizational requirements.

you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level:

• Leading industrial hygiene, health physics, and occupational health programs by directing hazard evaluations, developing mitigation strategies, and providing technical oversight to ensure compliance with Federal, NASA, and organizational requirements.
