Equipment Operator 2 performs a variety of construction and maintenance functions for the Division of Forestry at Blue Rock State Forest. The operator routinely works with heavy motorized equipment and assists in wildfire support and suppression projects.

• Operate heavy motorized equipment to complete construction and maintenance functions.
• Perform wildfire support tasks, including forest fire line construction, trail, culvert, road and bridge work.
• Conduct general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings or undertake ground maintenance duties.
• Assist with wildfire suppression operations.

• Formal education in arithmetic (fractions, decimals, percentages) plus reading, writing and speaking in common English vocabulary.
• At least 9 months of training or experience operating heavy motorized equipment such as a 7‑ton dozer, 8‑10‑ton roller, concrete mixer, excavator, low‑boy or similar machinery, and a 10‑ton sweeper, 10‑ton tractor, or 25,000–35,000‑pound dump truck.
• Valid commercial driver’s license (Class A, no restrictions).
• Proficiency in safety practices associated with heavy equipment operation.
• Equivalent minimum qualifications as required for Employment under the Class A CDL.
