Job Summary

Location:

Hawesville, KY

Shift: 12 hour

Pay Rate: $35.25–$39.68 per hour. Eligible for promotion to Sr Electronic Technician with pay rate $42.50.

General Summary

Under the direction of the supervisor, an individual will be expected to troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, assemble, install, relocate or modify complex electrical equipment.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair, install or modify complicated relay logic systems, circuit breakers, fuses, transformers, motors, lighting systems, switches, bus ducts and high voltage power distribution systems.
  • Install hardware portion of programmable controllers; troubleshoot hardware and program using the programming terminal.
  • Select and use applicable tools and materials to accomplish assigned tasks efficiently and safely.
  • Perform assigned tasks with input from supervisor, maintenance work order, machine operator, and maintenance manuals.
  • Complete all required forms: maintenance work orders, inspection reports, and P.M. check lists using hard copy and/or computer generated forms.
  • Handle all materials in a manner designed to minimize environmental impact.
Skills and Abilities
  • Satisfactory completion of certification program for "Senior" Electrician.
  • Thorough knowledge and correct use of all hand tools, power tools and precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to select all tools, parts and materials to complete assigned tasks.
  • Ability to lead and work with a small crew.
  • Ability to read and interpret complicated lighting and power distribution drawings and relay logic schematics.
  • Ability to install complicated conduit systems.
Working Conditions

Could be exposed to inclement weather, heat, cold, noise, vibration, dust, dirt, fumes, water, oil and heights. Protective equipment will be issued as required.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
