Contract to Hire OR Permanent Opportunity:
Controls Engineer

$60/hour + Overtime (contract)

$120k + Overtime (permanent)

In this role, you'll be the critical link between the project teams and the installation partners, ensuring automated systems are installed, commissioned, and operating flawlessly on time and on budget.

This is hands‑on field work that blends technical expertise with advanced troubleshooting and PLC programming. You'll work across multiple industrial facilities, manage complex technical challenges, and take direct ownership of project success from start to finish.

What You'll Do
  • Lead detailed system reviews, startup procedures, and commissioning of automated equipment
  • Program, modify, and troubleshoot systems using Allen‑Bradley, Beckhoff, and Schneider Electric platforms
  • Train operations and maintenance teams; mentor installation contractors to ensure work meets design intent and quality standards
  • Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and control system issues in real‑time
  • Implement quality control measures and generate comprehensive installation/commissioning reports
  • Communicate with Blast One team and project partners; identify and mitigate risks; ensure projects stay on schedule and on budget
  • Provide technical assistance both on‑site at facilities and remotely to keep systems running smoothly
What We're Looking For
  • 3–5+ years in industrial controls, automation, or field service
  • Proven expertise with PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen‑Bradley, Beckhoff, Schneider Electric)
  • Strong ability to diagnose complex and intermittent system failures
  • Solid understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
  • Experience commissioning and troubleshooting industrial equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and layouts
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and remote meeting tools
Logistical Requirements:
  • 60–80% field work at customer locations (various industries)
  • Travel up to 5 days per week (US & Canada)
  • Valid US Passport
  • Standard M–F schedule with flexible extended hours during commissioning
