Position: Relief Bus Driver
Schedule: Approximately 6:308:30 a.m. and 2:304:30 p.m., and trips
Benefits: Full Health Benefits, District Pays for Training
The Relief Bus Driver provides safe and reliable student transportation when a regularly assigned bus driver is absent or otherwise unavailable. This position must be available to cover assigned morning and afternoon routes and plays an important role in maintaining consistent transportation services for students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Safely transport students to and from school and other assigned locations.
- Drive assigned bus routes when the regular driver is absent.
- Maintain appropriate student behavior and ensure established bus safety rules are followed.
- Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of the assigned school bus.
- Report safety concerns, mechanical issues, accidents, or student concerns to the Transportation Supervisor or administration.
- Follow all district transportation policies and procedures and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professional and respectful interactions with students, families, staff, and community members.
- Complete other transportation-related duties as assigned.
The successful candidate must obtain and maintain all required Ohio school bus driver qualifications, licenses, certifications, training, background checks, physical examinations, and other requirements necessary to operate a school bus.
Candidates must also:
- Possess or obtain the appropriate Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with required endorsements.
- Maintain an acceptable driving record.
- Successfully complete all required school bus driver training.
- Meet all applicable state and district physical and safety requirements.
- Successfully complete required criminal background checks.
- Maintain all required certifications and credentials throughout employment.
- Demonstrate dependability and the ability to report for assigned routes when needed.
- Work effectively and respectfully with students of all ages.
The Relief Bus Driver will work to cover absences of regularly assigned drivers. Typical route times are approximately:

This position is eligible for full health benefits in accordance with district policies and applicable employment agreements.
The Relief Bus Driver is expected to provide safe, dependable, and professional transportation while supporting the district's commitment to the safety and well-being of all students.
