Power Equipment Distributors – Richmond, MI What You’ll Be Doing
- Direct daily warehouse operations including receiving, putaway, replenishment, order fulfillment, shipping, transportation coordination, and inventory control.
- Lead, supervise, and schedule warehouse staff (10–18 full‑time and 5–20 part‑time employees, including warehouse and driver personnel) to meet operational demands while maximizing labor efficiency and minimizing overtime.
- Oversee warehouse workflows within the WMS, ensuring accurate system transactions, process compliance, and strong inventory integrity.
- Manage key performance metrics including productivity, order accuracy, on‑time shipments, inventory accuracy, labor utilization, and overtime performance.
- Ensure timely and accurate receipt, inspection, and system processing of inbound products.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, discrepancy investigations, and implementation of corrective actions to improve process discipline.
- Oversee outbound shipping operations to ensure accurate and on‑time order fulfillment.
- Resolve freight claims, shipping discrepancies, damaged goods, and transportation‑related issues.
- Ensure all 3PL customer warehousing and shipping requirements are met in accordance with service expectations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain warehouse procedures, workflows, and operational policies.
- Identify and drive improvements in warehouse layout, product flow, space utilization, and overall operational efficiency.
- Conduct regular one‑on‑one meetings, team huddles, coaching sessions, and performance feedback discussions with employees.
- Train, develop, and hold warehouse staff accountable to productivity, quality, and safety standards.
- Monitor operations to ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, environmental standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate forklift certification and ongoing powered equipment training for warehouse staff.
- Oversee facility and equipment maintenance in partnership with the Director of Operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 5 years of warehouse operations experience required.
- Minimum 2 years of warehouse leadership or supervisory experience required.
- Hands‑on experience utilizing a Warehouse Management System (WMS) in daily operations.
- Experience with RF scanning, inventory transactions, cycle counting, replenishment, and shipping/receiving workflows.
- Proven experience maintaining inventory accuracy and enforcing warehouse process discipline.
- Experience operating forklifts and other powered industrial equipment.
- Strong leadership skills with experience coaching, developing, and supervising employees.
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong organizational and labor planning skills with the ability to manage shifting priorities.
- Effective communication skills across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to provide clear, constructive verbal and written feedback to team members.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with process improvement methodologies (Lean, 5S, or similar) preferred.
- $75,000 - $85,000/annually
- This is a full‑time position with varying shifts from Monday through Friday to cover business needs. Occasional extended days and/or weekend hours may be required.
