Auto Parts Store - Delivery Driver (Full Time) 6009 Job Description

The Auto Parts Store Delivery Driver will primarily determine the priority of deliveries, receive and review delivery orders for completeness, and maintain a clean driving record while adhering to company policy. Deliveries focus on automotive replacement parts, heavy‑duty parts, automotive and industrial paint, and body shop supplies and equipment from our Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts retail store locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service, including assessing customer needs, meeting quality standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction.
  • Abide by rules of the road and laws for safely operating a vehicle.
  • Determine the priority of deliveries and the most timely and efficient route, when not directed by a manager or counterperson.
  • Receive and process orders and other documents by reviewing for completeness and clarity before delivery.
  • Maintain a clean and well‑running delivery vehicle by performing routine maintenance and inspections.
  • Drive safely in different weather and traffic conditions.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Check in freight, stock, and retrieve parts.
  • Handle cash and credit transactions.
  • Answer telephone and wait on customers.
  • Assist in store inventory or other location’s inventory, if assigned.
  • Maintain a clean facility inside and outside, sweeping, mopping, picking up trash, straightening shelves, and rearranging stock.
  • Adhere to scheduled work time unless authorized by a manager.
  • Perform all other job duties as assigned.

Education and / or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent experience or motivation to pursue a GED. Automotive parts and/or customer service experience preferred.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rate, ratio, and percent; draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions; deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

Basic computer knowledge including web browsing and Microsoft Office.
