Job Summary
The Providence Center Assistant Manager Women's Road to Recovery assists the Manager in the operation of a group residence for psychiatrically disabled consumers.
Duties & Responsibilities- Assist Manager in the daily operation of the group residence to include clinical, administrative, maintenance, and supervisory responsibilities.
- Supervise the daily operation of the residence.
- Provide leadership to staff regarding training, risk management, day-to-day matters, etc. Facilitate an environment that supports staff participation and encourages self-direction and team building.
- Supervise assigned staff (i.e. overnight, part-time, and on call).
- Conduct regular supervision meetings with staff and maintain records of the meetings (visit overnight staff during their shifts).
- Monitor staffing to ensure 24-hour coverage and arrange staff weekly schedules accordingly.
- Ensure that confidentiality and the highest standards of ethics are maintained by staff when treating consumers, in accordance with Center policy and legal requirements.
- Oversee the staffs’ quality and timely completion of Health Information Services (HIS) and other required documentation.
- Monitor daily program activities for residents.
- Oversee physical maintenance of the residential facility. Conduct monthly fire drills, monitor refrigerator and dishwasher temperatures, monitor first aid kits and other supplies as necessary, check daily that smoke detectors are operational, etc.
- Administer Center policies.
- Work with the Residential Nurse to develop and maintain residents’ treatment plans and to monitor medications, in conjunction with the Residential Manager.
- Develop volunteer and work programs, including recreational activities.
- Purchase food and other household supplies.
-Oversee and monitor staff providing case management and support to assigned consumers. - Assist and monitor staff in developing and implementing treatment plans and progress notes for assigned consumers.
- Provide orientation and training to new staff.
- Conduct record audits of staff records in accordance with Center requirements. Establish plans of improvement as needed.
- Perform monthly EBT process.
- Ensure that staff participating on Center committees regularly attend meetings and report back to the department on committee activities.
- Work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight).
- Cover between the group residences as needed.
- Serve as liaison with staff at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) to screen patients for determination of appropriateness of discharge; follow clients from admission to discharge (duties shared among all Assistant Managers).
- Coordinate and facilitate transitioning and discharges from the hospital.
- Assess consumers regarding discharge readiness.
- Obtain intake date.
- Meet with Coordinator of Residential Services and triage team when a person is ready for discharge.
- Obtain all needed information for Center staff and consumer's medical record.
- Perform needed duties regarding procurement of social security and prescribed medication(s).
- Provide direct services to IMH consumer(s) (case management, provide skills training,) as needed.
- Maintain awareness of Providence area new admissions to the hospital.
- Follow-up and communicate with Center staff to gain information and to track progress.
- Pursue and coordinate appropriate community placement: group home, families, independent living, intensive care facility boarding homes.
- Testify at court as an agent of The Center, as needed.
- Maintain cooperative relationships with consumers, other employees and the public.
- Communicate with various agencies and other departments at The Center.
