Part-time Library Assistant – Adult – George Memorial Responsibilities
- Assist full‑time staff at a reference desk.
- Answer reference questions, referring complex or difficult queries to senior staff.
- Assist patrons with public computers for catalog searches, circulation account checks, internet and database use.
- Help in other library areas as required, such as adult programming, circulation desk, or other reference desks; complete shelf‑reading and other duties.
- Complete book and AV processing or other assigned duties.
- Attend reference training and continuing educational programs as available.
- Study databases, online resources, and the reference book collection regularly to maintain familiarity.
Requires high school diploma and 48 college credit hours. Relevant experience working with adults in groups preferred. Typing and keyboarding skills; computer skills involving internet and database searching; good communication skills and the ability to interact easily with staff and public; ability to bend, stoop, reach, and lift library materials up to 25 pounds.
Salary and Work HoursPart‑time: $15.30 per hour, 24 hours per week.
