Responsibilities
- Creates case and incident files and reports; combines all information to create a complete case file.
- Maintains office communication and correspondence; answers phones, communicates messages to the appropriate recipient.
- Assists customers and citizens of the county daily.
- Schedules Inspectors and Investigators appointments and life safety inspections; communicates with the customer to schedule prompt inspections and meetings as needed per each inspector/investigator.
- Creates, organizes, and maintains files for records; creates new files for new projects and ensures the information is accurate.
- Processes plans and payments for the inspection division; ensures accurate plans log for plans received and communicates with customers for status updates.
- Responds to open records and any inquiries related to the Fire Marshal’s Office.
- Assists with monthly reports and entry into the Records Management System for the department.
- Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED.
- 2 years job related experience.
- Good computer and typing skills (minimum 40 WPM), Experience with Micro Soft Word and Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with others.
- Strong public relations skills;
Good organizational skills, ability to prioritize own work and ability to complete assigned tasks within tight deadline, multi-tasker. - Bi- lingual (Spanish) preferred.
- Valid Drivers License.
STARTING SALARY RANGE: $16.34 - $20.43 hourly based on qualifications
