General Description

Teaching location and hours are subject to change during employment with WCJC to meet department/division needs to ensure student success. Pay for this position is based on a 9 month contract working fall and spring semesters. (Masters: $49,550 - $54,550; Doctorate: $56,) Start date for this position is August 2026.

The permanent responsibility of a faculty member is to provide the most effective instruction possible in his/her discipline. Supervision is received from appropriate supervisor. The faculty member works to insure that his/her instruction is meeting the educational needs of students.

Requirements

This position requires a Master's Degree (in Speech or other discipline) and a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Speech from a regionally accredited institution. This position requires credentials that meet minimum requirements for teaching at the post-secondary level set by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, the Texas Education Agency, and accrediting agencies for individual programs.

A criminal background check is required.

Personal Days

Two personal days per year

Holidays

25 paid holidays per year for twelve month full time employees

Sick Days

1.5 sick days per month - maximum number accrued is 60 days

Nine month employees may accrue 13.50 days per year

Twelve month employees may accrue 18.50 days per year

Vacation Days

Twelve month employees who work 40 hours per week for 12 months - 12 vacation days per year
