The Richmond Campus is accepting applications for an Associate Dean of Instruction position. This full-time, exempt position reports to the Dean of Instruction.

Essential Position Responsibilities
  • Facilitates, promotes, and monitors the application of the College’s Teaching & Learning Philosophy as related to faculty knowledge and application (of the philosophy) within course planning documents and lesson plans (full-and part-time).
  • Ensures compliance with system, market, and accrediting/regulatory requirements for faculty credentials, curriculum, professional development, and performance review.
  • Assists with course and program evaluation, and recommends, implements, and evaluates initiatives for improvement.
  • Works collaboratively with Academic Advising to optimize scheduling, ensure alignment with campus benchmarks, and implement data-driven decisions that support timely student progression.
  • Assists with hiring, training, coaching, developing, and evaluating academic program directors, subject area coordinators, and faculty in designated program/content areas.
  • Interprets and integrates feedback from students, graduates, employers, and course review results to improve teaching methodology and/or strengthen curriculum outcomes.
  • Identifies, implements, and monitors opportunities to meet market and campus goals for student learning outcomes, student retention, graduation, placement, and career success.
  • Assists with managing of faculty through monitoring and review of established College-wide metrics to achieve student learning outcomes and course retention.
  • Fulfills, or assists the Dean in fulfilling, all program leadership responsibilities for any program or liberal arts subject area not led by a program director.
  • Assists in developing and conducting faculty training and in service.
  • Assists with the monitoring of both formal and informal classroom observations as well as conduct classroom observations of academic program directors and subject area coordinators.
  • Assists with academic dishonesty and plagiarism review.
  • Assists with statistical research and analysis of instructional practices.
  • Assists with tracking and monitoring of instructional budget.
  • Ensures instructional success and models lifelong learning through continuous professional development.
  • Serves on market committees and participates in required events.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Dean of Instruction.
Qualifications/Competencies
  • Master’s degree in relevant discipline required, with graduate work in educational administration, adult education, curriculum, or related area preferred.
  • Experience with Blended/Hybrid learning models.
  • Supervisory experience required, with experience in higher education administration and/or compliance preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership, facilitation and written and oral communications skills as well as demonstrated competence in developing others, maintaining confidentiality, managing detail, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Successful teaching experience using authentic assessment and active learning methodologies.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development and student success.
  • Strong team player with demonstrated ability to forge supportive partnerships within and between departments.
  • Proficient in usage of Microsoft Office applications.
