Duties
- Maintain secrecy of Grand Jury proceedings;
- Swear in witnesses appearing before the Grand Jury;
- Maintain a witness log of witnesses appearing before the Grand Jury;
- Ensure the Grand Jury room is set up and prepared for the Grand Jury docket;
- Maintain the security of the Grand Jury room and ensure that no unauthorized person enters the area;
- Facilitate food orders for the Grand Jury;
- Keep track of the amount of coffee and water supplies, and provide a supplies list to the Judge of the Grand Jury when supplies run low;
- Assist with the functioning of the Grand Jury as needed by the members of the Grand Jury and/or the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office.
- High School Diploma/GED; 60 semester hours from an accredited college/university or two years of active duty military experience preferred.
- Current or Past TCOLE Certification with prior law enforcement experience.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the members of the Grand Jury, other county employees, and elected officials.
- Ability to complete projects in a timely manner.
- Firearms Certification preferred.
Starting Salary: $22.46 per hour;
Part‑Time up to 29 hours per week
