Duties

  • Maintain secrecy of Grand Jury proceedings;
  • Swear in witnesses appearing before the Grand Jury;
  • Maintain a witness log of witnesses appearing before the Grand Jury;
  • Ensure the Grand Jury room is set up and prepared for the Grand Jury docket;
  • Maintain the security of the Grand Jury room and ensure that no unauthorized person enters the area;
  • Facilitate food orders for the Grand Jury;
  • Keep track of the amount of coffee and water supplies, and provide a supplies list to the Judge of the Grand Jury when supplies run low;
  • Assist with the functioning of the Grand Jury as needed by the members of the Grand Jury and/or the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED; 60 semester hours from an accredited college/university or two years of active duty military experience preferred.
  • Current or Past TCOLE Certification with prior law enforcement experience.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the members of the Grand Jury, other county employees, and elected officials.
  • Ability to complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Firearms Certification preferred.
Compensation and Benefits

Starting Salary: $22.46 per hour;
Part‑Time up to 29 hours per week

Benefits: All full‑time and part‑time employees are members of the Texas County District Retirement System (TCDRS). Full‑time employees also enjoy a wide range of benefits.
