Sign Language Interpreter in Richmond, TX

This part-time position is for Fridays only, with the possibility of occasional additional hours when substituting for another language facilitator. Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL), with experience in educational settings
• Previous work with students who use Cochlear implants, hearing aids, or ALD devices preferred
• Understanding of instructional facilitation for high school-aged learners, especially within behavioral classrooms
• Ability to collaborate with another language facilitator in a job share arrangement
• Licensure or certification as a Sign Language Interpreter required
• Flexible and dependable, with a commitment to student support

Primary Responsibilities:

• Interpret instructional content for a 9th grade student during class hours at a high school
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and fellow interpreters to maintain consistency in services
• Adhere to student scheduling needs (excludes lunch, arrival, and dismissal times)
• Provide clear, effective communication access, adapting to assistive technology as needed
• Substitute for other language facilitators when necessary, ensuring student support is uninterrupted
