Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Music Therapist in a vibrant school-based setting near Richmond, TX. This part-time position (15-20 hours per week) runs from mid-August 2026 through late May 2027, offering the chance to make a genuine impact in a diverse campus environment.

In this role, you'll deliver both individual and group music therapy sessions, working primarily with elementary-age students in alignment with their IEP goals. You will assess student needs, design adaptive materials and equipment, and actively participate in school ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) committees to optimize student outcomes.

Key qualifications and skills:
  • National Certification in Music Therapy required
  • Proven experience working with children in school or similar settings, especially those with autism or developmental disabilities
  • Strong knowledge of music therapy assessment protocols
  • Familiarity with IEP documentation and compliance
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities
  • Experience developing and delivering staff trainings
  • Ability to create a supportive, engaging environment for students
  • Must meet district fingerprinting and credentialing requirements
Primary responsibilities:
  • Provide direct music therapy services in accordance with student IEPs
  • Assess students to determine eligibility for services
  • Consult and collaborate with educational staff, administrators, and parents
  • Participate in goal-setting and evaluations as part of ARD committees
  • Maintain accurate, compliant documentation and records
  • Support staff development and parent understanding of music therapy interventions
  • Ensure a safe and productive learning environment
