As our Data Center Construction Manager (CM), you will be part of a diverse, upbeat team solving problems in constructing Amazon Data Centers. Our data centers are energy efficient and cost-effective designs.
Responsibilities- Own project scope, quality, schedule, and budget for construction of new builds or general capital projects.
- Own construction project management and oversight of construction-related activities.
- Collaborate with Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning to build Data Centers that support our Customers.
- Lead in your discipline (construction management, building services, architectural, electrical, or mechanical engineering).
- Represent Amazon’s owner’s representative on construction sites daily, interacting with trades.
- Be Amazon’s construction representative on multiple data center sites from start to hand-off to operations.
- Direct interface with general contractors during bidding, award, execution, punch-list, and closeout.
- Create construction project scope and requests for proposals.
- Conduct negotiations with general contractors and evaluate bids and proposals with detail and accuracy.
- Manage cost, schedule, quality, and vendor relationships.
- Perform project management activities including documents, submittals, RFIs, change orders, invoices, quality, scope, and schedule.
- Drive teams to troubleshoot and perform root-cause analyses on equipment failures.
- Support commissioning, integrated system testing, and oversight.
- Support operations of installed facilities, including review of procedures and maintenance initiatives.
- Support capital request creation.
- Analyze and report construction progress and financials.
- Record and report key construction metrics to team members and management.
- Contribute to initiatives to improve efficiency and data center resiliency.
- Provide constructability reviews for electrical and mechanical designs for new or optimized data centers.
Sr. CM is expected to be onsite daily (M-F). Build location is one hour southwest of Houston, TX.

Basic Qualifications- Experience in construction management or construction program management of large, complex projects involving large-scale mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) plants
- Experience constructing electrical engineering systems including large-scale power distribution/generation gear and mechanical systems including cooling systems
- 12+ years of general contractor and vendor management (RFPs, bidding, change orders, QC, RFIs/submittals) in construction and project execution
