AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the cloud. As our Data Center Construction Manager (CM), you will be part of a diverse, upbeat team solving problems in constructing Amazon Data Centers. Our data centers are energy efficient and cost-effective designs.

• Own project scope, quality, schedule, and budget for construction of new builds or general capital projects.
• Own construction project management and oversight of construction-related activities.
• Collaborate with Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning to build Data Centers that support our Customers.
• Lead in your discipline (construction management, building services, architectural, electrical, or mechanical engineering).
• Represent Amazon’s owner’s representative on construction sites daily, interacting with trades.
• Be Amazon’s construction representative on multiple data center sites from start to hand-off to operations.
• Direct interface with general contractors during bidding, award, execution, punch-list, and closeout.
• Create construction project scope and requests for proposals.
• Conduct negotiations with general contractors and evaluate bids and proposals with detail and accuracy.
• Manage cost, schedule, quality, and vendor relationships.
• Perform project management activities including documents, submittals, RFIs, change orders, invoices, quality, scope, and schedule.
• Drive teams to troubleshoot and perform root-cause analyses on equipment failures.
• Support commissioning, integrated system testing, and oversight.
• Support operations of installed facilities, including review of procedures and maintenance initiatives.
• Support capital request creation.
• Analyze and report construction progress and financials.
• Record and report key construction metrics to team members and management.
• Contribute to initiatives to improve efficiency and data center resiliency.
• Provide constructability reviews for electrical and mechanical designs for new or optimized data centers.

Sr. CM is expected to be onsite daily (M-F). Build location is one hour southwest of Houston, TX.

• Experience in construction management or construction program management of large, complex projects involving large-scale mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) plants
• Experience constructing electrical engineering systems including large-scale power distribution/generation gear and mechanical systems including cooling systems
• 12+ years of general contractor and vendor management (RFPs, bidding, change orders, QC, RFIs/submittals) in construction and project execution
